As per the proceedings No.303/A2/01, dt. 10-07-2013 of the Vice Chancellor, Dr NTRUHS, AP, Vijayawada , permission has been granted to make admissions in MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences, Ghanpur, with an intake of 150 students for the year 2013-14.
Recognition for the award of MBBS granted by KNRUHS against the increased intake that is from 100 to 150.  Lr.No MCI-37(1(R1-21)/2016-Med/173266 Dt 12-02-2019.

MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) owned by "SHARE MEDICAL CARE FOUNDATION" (a Section 8 Company under the provisions of Companies Act 2013) is situated at Ghanpur, Medchal Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri Dist. of Telangana. The institute was originally established by Share Medical Care (NGO), during the year 2001-2002, over an area of 40 acres in the MediCiti Campus of 200 acres. A 720 bedded multi-specialty MediCiti Hospital functioning at Ghanpur is attached to MIMS. MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) was started during the year 2002-2003 with annual intake of 100 students. The college has started functioning from 17th October 2002 following admission of 1st batch of students of 100. Medical Council of India has accorded permission for the 1st batch on 26th August 2002 vide letter No. U.12012/111/2000-ME (P-II) dated 6th August 2002, Govt of India, Min of Health & FW. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare ,Govt of India, with the recommendation of Medical Council of India Recognized the MIMS for awarding of MBBS degrees with effect from yr 2007 vide its letter No. U 12012/333/2000-ME(P-II) Dt.19/06/2008. and Confirmation of recognition granted vide Letter No .MCI-34(41)2007-/28718) Dt.13/06/2012

MediCiti Hospital Ghanpur is converted into teaching hospital, started with 360 beds initially with provision for increasing the bed strength to 500 by the end of 5th year (increase 0f 50 beds annually) As on date the bed strength is 720 excluding 50 beds of Intensive Care .Post graduation strated during the year 2009 in all the pre,para and clinical departments with annual intake of 50 degree students in all the departments

The institute was originally established by Share Medical Care (NGO), during the year 2001-2002 . The college spread over an area of 40 acres in the MediCiti campus of 200 acres, in lush greenery, hillocks & lake, only 30 km away from Hyderabad city, on Nagpur Highway No. 7.

A 300 bedded multi-specialty hospital that was functioning in the campus since 1992, was attached to MIMS to make it a full-fledged teaching college under Dr.NTR Health University and together their journey began on 17th October 2002 following admission of the 1st batch of students of 100. Medical Council of India (MCI) had accorded permission for the 1st batch in 2002 & subsequent batches, thereafter.

Today in 2024, the college is in its 22nd year and the campus is buzzing with activities, with 750 UG students, 150 PG Students and a thousand others, comprising faculty member and support staff. On an average, about 1200-1300 Out Patient's get benefited by medical care provided by the hospital at affordable, subsidised rate.

Method of Selection



For Rule ( G.O Ms No 129 ‘Allotment of seats ‘ the following shall be substituted: The seats to be allotted in each unaided non minority professional institution under these rules, for admissions of candidate shall be as:

Category –A seats (50% of sanctioned intake of the seats)

Competent authority seats: these seats shall be filled in through the counseling by the committee constituted by competent authority as per merit from the candidate who are qualified at NEET held by the government of India for that year following the rules of reservation.

Category-B seats (35% of sanctioned intake of the seats)

NEET Qualified ranking based managements seats:- the seats shall be filled through the counseling by the committee for admissions constituted by competent authority(Vice Chancellor of KNRUHS) as per the merit from the candidates who are qualified in NEET for that year. The committee constituted will include one nominee of TPMDCMA and director of Medical Education, T.S.Hyd. The Registrar KNR UHS will be convener KNR UHS officers will assist the selection committee. The Notification will be issued by the KNR UHS and admissions process will be completed as per schedule by the selection committee constituted by the Vice Chancellor.

Category-C seats (15% NRI quota)

These seats shall be filled by the competent authority i..e, Vice Chancellor of KNR UHS through selection committee constituted for Category B-seats and notification will be issued by the KNR UHS from NEET qualified by NRI candidates. Eligibility criteria for NRI candidates admissions will be as per MCI regulations issued from time to time.
